I am advising a small group of companies on organization and notably on CRM. My interlocutors are in the Asia Audiovisual creative business. They tend to enjoy the latest toys available. iPhones, Mac Pro, MacBook Air, etc..
I am a strong supporter of Mac for the enterprise and a happy Daylite user, I always recommend Daylite.
On my discussions, the first alternative I face is Filemaker Pro.
I can tell very clearly it will be very difficult to propose Daylite now, as it is not yet portable to the iPhone and FM Touch is available.
Please hurry up! Competition is heating up.

I hear you. In my case, I already have a solution which I paid thousands for a developer to create a few years ago. Now, with the advent of Bento, honestly, the only reason I'm using Daylite is for the letter merging and the ability to link contacts and organizations. Another thing is the steep price of FM connector. I mean, here we have an application created from scratch on a new platform and it only costs 100$. whereas a collection of a few applescripts costs 300$. A couple of friends of mine, one in the medical field and another in the graphics field, whom employ 3 workers, would love to use daylite, but given that they already have a FMP solution, when they learn about the price of FMconnector, they cringe. MC has to realize and should know (they are a Canadian company after all), that the major market force in Canada are micro enterprises, few of which will pay 300 $ for the ability to link 2 appplications.

An interesting development, to be sure. I wonder how easy it would be (or even possible) to port OpenBase over to iPhone??

Even better, they dropped the price from 100 to 69$(!) after popular demand! I'm downloading it as we speak. I wish the folks at marketcircle would drop the price of FMconnector
