Daylite 3.1.x cannot sync calendar with PocketMac 4.0. RIM and PocketMac are aware of it and I've been waiting for their answer. Daylite 3.2 seems to get the calendar sync issue resolved -- I have only tried a few times so far, but all successful. However, now the address book won't do it at all. Got this error every time: [NSNull bytes]: selector not recognized [self=0xa07e600c] (On a side note, the sync of PM 4.0 with Apple's Address Book has no problem.)
I'm using MacBook Pro (core 2 duo) w/ 2GB RAM, 10.4.8. |

I had this same problem. After some research, I ran the user/library/applicationsupport/pocketmacsyncmanager/additional Tools/SyncClean.app and DataPurgeUI.app. This essentially ERASED ALL THE DATA on my BB, but the syncronization now works. I hope it helps, but be careful.

I ran both apps (only purge contact, not others). Still got the same error. I'm running 30 day trial version. But it shouldn't matter, right? The BB is 8700r. The same contacts in Apple Address Book has no problem with BB.
Just found out the repeat events in calendar were not synced correctly either. Only the first occurrence appears on BB. |

Hi Jenson,
The PocketMac folks have identified the 'NSNull bytes' problem. I'm not sure when they plan to release a patch. Get in touch with support in regards to this. Thanks. |

I had initially thought that Task sync was not functioning properly either in that all of my old Completed tasks remain in the BB. If I delete them on the unit itself, they are restored by the next sync. Well it isn't working, but I've identified the reason - all of my Tasks marked Completed in Daylite are showing up with status of Deferred on the BB. Anyone else seeing this?
I'm not sure whose ear to pinch on this - Marketcirlce? PocketMac? Blackberry? Anyone have a link to a support page that cares? :-) |

We've gotten the sync going, but we're running into four key issues:
1. The email addresses don't sync (our blackberry devices don't have any email addresses, but they are in DL!) 2. The software only sync the contacts the user OWNS, so if my colleague owns a client, I won't have that client's info on my device. Likewise, I won't have that colleague's information because each user owns their own contact card. We need it to sync all of the contacts that each user has permission to see. 3. We're also having the task issue where tons of tasks come through, all marked as deferred. 4. Repeating events don't come through. The PocketMac documentation says that they won't, but it's still annoying. We have weekly staff and executive meetings set up, and they're never on our blackberry devices because they're repeated events. Likewise for some of my own events. |

Gabriel:
I hadn't noticed those other 3 issues, but I can confirm them now that I've checked. Blackberry sync cannot be said to function in Daylite. I don't know whose issue that is (Marketcircle or PocketMac), but in looking at the past threads it is obvious that it has remained unsolved for a considerable amount of time now. I suggest that Marketcircle either a) commits to a firm fix date b) removes Blackberry sync from the Daylite features list and begins a discussion of what percentage of the purchase price that feature is worth and refund its users accordingly. I am a big fan of Daylite, but the lack of an advertised feature is not a situation that I find tolerable. |

I can see that shared contacts not being able to sync to everybody's BB will be one of my big concerns too.
We have 17 employees in the office and we're currently using Now Up-to-date. It doesn't have this problem. I hope Daylite can rethink people's needs and take this into consideration for next patch/update, 'cuase it doesn't make sense to me to have this limitation in an closed office environment. If a user has permission to see the shared contacts, he/she should be able to put them onto his/her BB too. |

This four issues listed for the Blackberry are similar, if not exactly, the same problems for Palm syncing on the Treo line–and probably every Palm device.
I am just now beginning an earnest research effort on the issue to see if it is just an issue with our setup and settings, whether or not the issues can be solved using The Missing Sync, or if this is something that Marketcircle has to solve in DayLIte itself. With the increase in mobility devices – especially for the Daylite target audience – I am sure we will get prompt attention to this from the Marketcircle team. In fact, I will bet that these issues will be addressed in some manner when Sync Services support is released. *********************************** Macsimum News |

I just bought a BB pearl and am using trial DL3.0. So far my calendar, tasks, and notes sync nicely however my contacts do not.
The error I receive is that a "BAD DEFAULT CATEGORY LENGTH". Since my contacts do not sync I figure this has to do with my contacts categories. I have reduced the length and remove all symbols from my categories. As a matter of fact I am trying to sync just ONE category called FAMILY. Thoughts or suggestions? |

PocketMac is going to release a new version of PocketMac Sync Manager. Don't know when exactly, but it's coming. I tried the beta and it works as expected.

Hey guys, I'm telling the truth. I got an inside contact at RIM ...... (But I don't think I'm allowed to give you a copy.) Well, even if it's not coming by the end of the year, we should have a merry christmas and a happy new year. |

Does anyone on this thread have further word about sync'ing between BB and Daylite? Contact sync works EXCEPT emails, which is kind of rich for a blackberry. PocketMac 4 also seems to crash occasionally when I try to sync calendar, tasklist and notes as well. Limited to contacts, it doesn't.
I've now written to BB, MarketCircle and PocketMac. Haven't gotten an intelligent response from anyone... Both PocketMac and MarketCircle say that Daylite is supported for BB sync. BB is coy on the subject. This bites. |
