Hello -- I'm a new user to the productivity manager plugin for Mail.app. I can't determine how to connect an email with a contact other than any of the recipients in the Mail.app message. In other words, if I want to email our photographer concerning a particular client or prospect, but that client or prospect will not be one of the recipients of the message, I want to be able to associate the message with the client or prospect rather than the contact record for our photographer.
Is there a way to do this? Thank you! |

Hi Nora,
You can always link the email to the photographer, then change the linking in Daylite to be linked to the client instead. Although generally speaking when you're sending these kinds of emails to 1 person regarding another person, its because your client has an Opportunity or Project in Daylite and you're working with the photographer on that Opp or Project. If you link the photographer to the Opp or Project in Daylite, that Opp or Project will show up in Mail as something that you can link the email message to. Because the email message is pertinent to the Opp or Project it makes a lot of sense to link it to that item, rather than to the photographer or client. This is my preferred method. Hope this helps, Cynthia MacBook Pro OS X 10.5/Daylite 3.8 ______________________________________ Daylite Master Partner, Daylite Report Certified www.daylitehelp.com ______________________________________ |

You might want to use the Send Feedback menu option (found in Daylite: Help) to make this request as a new feature. I've got a number of clients who have asked for this, and they have made the request, but the more that ask for it, the higher the priority that Marketcircle will give it.
There are many situations similar to yours where Cynthia's idea (while good for many situations) just isn't feasible. I have a client who deals with insurance and investment policies which they track as projects. They may deal with 10's or even 100's of different contacts regarding a client's policy (i.e. help desks). There is no way they could link all of the possible contacts that might be involved in a project.
