I was forwarded an email by a co-worker from one of our contacts who is in Daylite. My co-worker doesn't use Daylite but I'd like to link this forwarded email to the contact. However, DMI doesn't list the contact as an option in the drawer.
Any ideas? Thanks. -Steve |

Make sure that the email address in DayLite is the same email as the one in Mail.app. If not, add the additional email address (or correct the existing address) to the contact in DayLite and go back to Mail.app. If the contact isn't there try selecting a different email message then return to the one in question.

This is a common problem and I think people have made feature requests to MC to enable more arbitrary linking from within Mail to objects in Daylite. As it stands, you'll have to add your colleague and their e-mail address to Daylite, then once you've refreshed the DMI panel in Mail you can transfer the mail message, but it will only be linked to your colleague's record. If you move off and back on to the mail message you will get the "This e-mail is in Daylite" message and you can click the button to go straight to it in Daylite. You will then have to manually link the message to the original sender. I find the quickest way to do this, since you've got the message in view in Daylite, is to use the Quick Find window and drag-and-drop your Contact (plus Project/Opportunity etc) from the QF window onto the message to link. You might want to leave it linked to your colleague, since they were the original recipient and it's legitimate that you'd want to know that. And if they become a DL user in future, there's some history there waiting for them. HTH Nick |
