Folks,
Anyone figured out how to export Notes? This is an issue which has been around forever and appears to be a significant stumbling block for a lot of people, myself included. By exporting I mean the capacity of selecting some/all of the Notes in a list and exporting each one of them to an rtf file in the Finder. I am aware that there is the option to print the selection to a pdf. Why embed important data to an application from which it cannot be extracted/exported. DL will undoubtedly continue to be developed for years to come but have just had the experience of one of my frequently-used applications simply vanish (bankruptcy) . Years worth of my research data lost as the company went under and did not produce a Leopard-ready version. Live in hope. But this request has been posted to MC (feedback and on the forum) on many occasions over many years. Will post to feedback once more. Thanks for any feedback. Steve J This message has been edited. There is a relatively crude way to export notes:
Set up the Notes List view so that the column titled "Note" is visible as well as any other columns you'd like to include. Then select the note or notes you want to export in the list and choose from the File menu, "Export Visible Columns and Selected Rows to File". You'll have a tab delimited file with the columns you've selected for export. Regards, Howard |

We here you Steve,
It will get done a some point. If you are in a real bind, and you must get that data out. Then it can be done using Howard's trick or using the Dev Kit. Using the Dev Kit, you can extract the data (note contents) with full fidelity (using a script or a plugin). While we may not provide the function, we do not lock you out of your data - you can get to every single bit using the Dev Kit. Just wanted to take this opportunity to remind folks that your data is NOT locked in. |

AJ, Thanks for response. Any info/guidance/links on this Dev Kit option? Don't have a clue what this means. Regards, Steve J |
