In my contacts list in Daylite, I've got lots of company contacts and ALL show up in the list as "No Name" until I click on them. Inside the contact entry, it shows that it's linked to an Organization by its correct name showing as a Participant that has the company's name.
Somehow this also bleeds over to my Address Book app when I sync. Over there, I now have several duplicate contacts for each company, one as an organization and one as a contact, and only the contact version has all the contact info and notes in it.
1) Am I doing something wrong here, or is it supposed to work this way? 2) What's going on in Address Book and how do I fix it? 3) What do I do with these "No Name" contacts?
In putting together these screen shots, I found something else unsettling.
I have duplicate "No Name" contacts -- some are linked to a Participant Organization and others are not. Below I show you two different, both for my local Best Buy, one being linked to the Best Buy Participant Organization record (so at least I have some clue what that phone number even goes to) and one with the same info but no Participant link, making it essentially a useless record
Well this is very interesting. There are 2 possibilities that come to mind. The first, which I can't help with, is that there is a serious bug or anomaly in your installation that would require the engineers at Marketcircle to help.
The other, and perhaps more likely, is some misunderstanding of how to create contacts and organizations. Do you have any idea of how these contacts were created? From what I see on the contact cards, they are being correctly represented as "No Name" in the lists because they don't actually have a name. I'm wondering how they came to be. Can you shed some light on that question?
If you delete them, do they simply return to the list?
One more question. When did you first notice them? Was it right after your first sync with Addressbook? Do you remember trying to create contacts for Best Buy?
When you're talking about deleting them to see if they disappear, are you talking about the "No Names" that aren't linked to anything? And are you talking about deleting them in Address Book or Daylite or both?
That's interesting. So you didn't create them on purpose for any reason (now obvious).
I would try deleting them from addressbook and see if they are then deleted from Daylite. Perhaps it's a one time anomaly that won't return. These no name contacts are of no use anyway, are they?
