This seems like a very sharp group and I need some help. I just switched over a few weeks ago and have been using 3.6 and very happy. No synch yet, but that will come.

My question, I was using constant contact for all my e-mail needs, does anyone have a plug in for bulk e-mail and newsletters for daylight, OR know of a good one.

Constant Contact's wizard does not support the Mac, well the new one.... and was just curious what others use before I had to the open market.

I am also going to search the forums.

Thank You,
JB

Welcome JB!

The best bulk email solution at this point seems to be Direct Mail, although I'm not yet sure if it supports Leopard. Anybody tried it?

Hi - Direct Mail works, but the link program between Daylite and DM doesn't work yet - anyone know if this will be supported soon?

Hi DSharp,

Not sure what you mean by the "link program"?. There is a link in the Daylite Action menu. I just tested it and it seems to work ok for me. Are you saying that this link isn't working for you?

Howard

Howard,

There isn't anything in my action menu for that - perhaps you installed it before you upgraded to apple, but the installation program (the plugin listed on the marketcircle site wouldn't install for me, crashed every time).

I have had the plugin so long now that I probably forgot how it got there! I actually thought it was part of the Daylite installation by default, but apparently I'm mistaken. It appears that the plugin is supplied by e3, not Marketcircle, so perhaps you should try to contact them about it.

Howard

DSharp,

I just tried the installer and as you say, it won't run - it just quits.

I'm waiting to hear from Marketcircle to see if it would be o.k. to manually install the bundle. As soon as I hear I'll post the answer.

Regards,

Howard

DSharp,

O.K. I just got the word from AJ at Marketcircle that it's ok to manually install. I'm not sure how much experience you have wit these things, so I'll start out with a terse explanation and if you require more details, just let me know.

Essentially you can ctl-click on the installer file: "Install Send To Direct Mail Plugin", and select "Show Package Contents". Navigate through it as follows:

Contents/Resources/Installer Items/DayliteToDirectMail.bundle

That is the file you need to copy to:

~/Library/Application Support/Daylite/PlugIns/

Then restart your computer. (not sure if this is necesary, but it won't hurt!).

Once that file is in place you should see the command at the end of the Actions menu in Daylite.

Regards,

Howard

Budabing! Howard, I thank you.

Works perfectly now. I really wish this HTML email stuff was a bit more integrated with Daylite.

It's worth sending in as a feature request!
