I had a setup where I logged in remotely from my home to my office (database at my office (static IP), and my home computer has a dynamic IP). Was working fine. Now I switched the situation: brought the database home to a computer with a dynamic IP address and a router. I port forwarded the three numbers (including setting a port for the third one). Enabled database sharing under administration.

Same software on both sides (3.7.4). Logging in using same user and password and database. I'm typing in either the current dynamic IP address at my home computer or my dynndns.org address in the computer field, and it wont connect. Any other ideas?

Have you actually set the database to share on the home computer?

Refer to our Apple Help Article (keyword: internet) to find info on how to Configure the database for Network Access.

Thanks!

First, I'd advise you to upgrade to the latest version (3.7.6 as of right now).

I'm guessing you're referring to this article about ports.

Did you open up the range or just a single port for the database? If you did just the single port, make sure it matches the one set in OpenBase ( described here)

If it still doesn't work, the exactly what error are you getting?

Need help in Daylite or Billings? Check the Help menu for Apple Help documentation.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I just found out the problem: I mistyped Daylite1 instead of DayLite1 in the database field. It's working fine now.
