HI I run a Photo studio, we have 4 computers running DL 3.2.3 with a 5th computer dedicated to running the openbase database. So far so good, all computers are working well.
I now need to have 1 computer running off site and staying live. To house the database online ie somewhere on the www what do I need to do? Or is it easier to open some kind of "tunnel" to the dedicated 5th computer in the studio? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Learsi |

Hi Learsi, I don;t have the full answer but from reading posts, I believe you're right in the way to sharing your database is to have a dedicated machine running daylite and the .db and accessing that through opening up ports in your firewall.
Other thought might be to utilize Leopards ability to control from an outside location the screen for that machine and working directly in Daylite there. I'm just starting out with DL, so I don't know much but I hope this is in some way helpful. Warmest, Kevin |

You can refer to this article on setting up your database to be accessible over the internet. This article on ports will have details on any configuration you may need to do on your networking equipment.
