I want to be able to send a calendar item to another person [via email] for them to accept or decline.

I noticed there is a way to send to users by linking them. However, how do I send to another person who is not a user? They may be using iCal or outlook.

Currently this feature is not available. We are planning to add it in the future.

Wow. I wish you were kidding.

Just so you know, for me as a solo practitioner, this feature is critical in avoiding misunderstandings with clients and the ability to email someone a calendar item seems like a pretty basic piece of functionality that is in all calendaring apps.

I am just getitng into DayLite this week after having finally purchased it. It is clearly an amazing app. I am sure that in time, I will feel that the robustness is more than compensatory for missing some small things.

And...when do you think this will get added? Soon?

And I am a little suprised.

Daylite is a multi-user CRM system; it's not a full-fledged group calendar application. I don't know that it's ever been represented as such.

Actually now Daylite is more on the groupware end than the CRM end.

We'll be continually improving the calendar area. This feature will be added. I'm just not sure on the timeline.

I really need this feature as well. I am currently converting from Entourage - which has this feature - an I am also a solo DL user. So, all of my invitations, both incoming and outgoing, are to or from non-DL users.

You can at least accept them from others. In mail you Control + Click the link to the iCal attachment. Part of the contextual menu is "add to daylite.app". It it will be added.

OOPS. Sorry, it is not "add to DayLite". it is:

Open With > Daylite.app

a sub menu in the contextual menu.
