Wondering if there is anyone else out there that has need of multimedia storage and thinks that DayLite would be a great spot for this? I know that we are able to download pictures attached to a contact, what if we were able to attach multimedia information to a contact? We are a small video production company that needs to keep track of reels and production samples. It would be excellent of DayLite had this capability.
My thoughts are no, it's not the best appliaiton for multimedia storage.
Thought of products like iView Media Pro, or DEVONthink or the like?
You could have a 3 GB video file which is only 20 minutes long. Putting this in the database would probably be 95% of the total storage of the database!
I agree with Bill that I'm not sure DL is ideal for this, given there are apps like iView MP and CatDV honed for this purpose.
However, there is nothing to stop you putting links into DL, directly linking media files so that you can see what you have, and you're only a click away from opening them. If you don't need to track every file, you can create a link to client folders in the same way.
