OK, so here's something that has always not seemed quite right to me. By default, access to the OpenBase database (through OB Manager) seems to be almost completely unsecured over the network. In the past, I THINK I screwed around with these settings and tried to set some passwords--with the result that I couldn't access the database from DL. Even though it isn't critical in my particular installation right now, I'm betting that there are situations where this kind of thing would be a big no-no. So, that brings me to my ultimate question: is there any way to lock OpenBase down without locking out DL?

Hi George.

We are working with OpenBase on this at the moment. They have provided information, and done work on their end, now we have to do our part.
Keep in mind that access to a Daylite database is protected, no one will be able to see information in it. Also all communications between Daylite and OpenBase are encrypted.

Michael, it seems like you guys are always one step ahead of me! I do realize that the data is encrypted, and that fact gives me a great deal of comfort since about 2/3 of our use is done over the internet. Hopefully, this step will allow everything to be completely locked down. As always, keep up the great work!
