Ok, perhaps this sounds like a dumb question but I'd like to know why I can't do this...
I am a single user of Daylite running the DB on a Mac Pro at my home office. I also use a MacBook Air with Daylite installed. I am the only user in the database so for about a year I have always worked offline from the laptop and then sync with the online DB. Here's what I'd LIKE to do... Be able to leave Daylite open on the Mac Pro and still login from the laptop to the online DB rather than working offline and syncing. Why can I not do this with 1 user license? It seems my only options are to either buy a second license or always remember to logoff from the Mac Pro (or do it remotely when I forget). Even the ability to do a remote logoff (forced, kick off, whatever you'd like to call it) Am I missing something here or is this just the way it is? Thanks! Doug Tomlinson Mac IT Solutions |

Hello!
If you want to run the software simultaneously on 2 computers, then you need 2 licenses. This is consistent with other pieces of software, it's not about you being 1 person, it's about how many computers you want to have the software open on simultaneously. Yes indeed you can keep just your 1 license if you want to only launch Daylite on your Air. The server does *not* have to have Daylite launched in order for you to log into it's database via your Air. Hope this helps, Cynthia MacBook Pro OS X 10.5/Daylite 3.8 ______________________________________ Daylite Master Partner, Daylite Report Certified www.daylitehelp.com ______________________________________ |

Hi Cynthia - Thanks for your reply.
While I knew this was pretty much the case here, it would be nice, at a minimum, to have the ability to "disconnect" a user when receiving the error that too many users are connected. Perhaps I should have posted this in the features request section. Doug Tomlinson Mac IT Solutions |
