I just tested the merge letter feature and noticed that using a built in template, merged to several contacts resulted in a new window for each merged letter. I was really surprised at this.

I'd like to be able to preview the letters as one document with a lot of pages as is done in MS Word, but with using the built in editor.

Is there a way to achieve this. I tried going to "direct to print" and then pressing "preview", but that yielded a new preview window per merged letter.

The same goes for emails. If I want to send one letter to several contacts will i have to hit send for each merged letter. That's seems inefficient. I'd rather Daylite send the same letter to all of the contacts.

We are demoing DayLite in an office environment so any feedback on this would help. This is crucial to our marketing.

From my experience, at the moment I'm afraid that is the way DL operates. Once you are happy with the merge fields then you could always use the Print right away or send right away option provided.

If you do it this way of course the letter is saved to the contact's record for future review.

If you need the letters to be in a single document the way Word does it then you might consider exporting the contact details as vcard or csv and placing it into Word for merge. You could then log a note linked to all contacts concerned that the letter has been sent.
Alternatively you might consider using the excellent Direct Mail program to merge DL contacts with an html file and send this out. WE use this a lot for marketing and it works well.
