I can't find any way to purposely create a duplicate of a anything. I've asked about this for contacts... but I've also got several projects now that are similar (I really only need to create new dates for it) and would like to simply 'duplicate' it as a starting point. This would be very useful for almost anything.. contacts, projects, opportunities, appointments, etc.

Are there any work-arounds? is this something everyone could use?

I second this request. In iCal I used to option drag appointments to create a duplicate and I really miss having this functionality in Daylite.

In the meantime what I've been doing is creating a repeating appointment and then adjusting the days and times of the repeated appointments. It does the job, but option dragging would be much more convenient.

Ditto here. It would be excellent to be able to Option-Click or otherwise create duplicates of items in Daylite. For example, suppose you have a number of Contacts in a company, all of whom share mostly the same information. It would be nice to create duplicate records and then tweak them. Same for calendar items, tasks, etc.

Absolutely. We need one here too. We used to be on Filemaker which had easy duplication. In our business people constantly move around from ad agency to ad agency. It would save us so much time to go to another person in that same agency with basically the same info, hit duplicate, then put in their email, name and phone. I've wasted many hours having to cut and paste when people change companies.

This is a great app but there's some seriously missing, simple functionality like this. I just posted about this with respect to the activity sets. There are some really simple areas in functionality that would greatly speed up using the product. Like the ability to duplicate an event by simply dragging with the option key to another date to duplicate that event or item. I'm really digging this product. But I hope in a next release, the team looks at some of the really simple things that are easily done in other competing products to speed up data entry. This isn't big engineering either!
