I'm wondering if using an iPod (30GB) for an offline database is feasible. I've got my main database at work, but would like to take it home occassionaly and possibly make changes there. I haven't used an offline db before so don't really know what I'm doing and wanted to ask first. My though was that the db could reside on my iPod, and when connected to my home Mac (which has DL3 running), connect to the db on the iPod. Is this feasible?

Any ideas?

Mike,

This would be very difficult to manage and thus not practical.

OpenBase databases, while relocatable, are very sensitive to their location on the hard disk.

while an ipod might not be pratical, I have been using a portable firewire drive (100gb) as a startup disk. it has all of my main applications, word, photoshop, dreamweaver, daylite, etc. and runs the all applications with no problems. It has been a life saver while traveling as I can plug it into any Mac and work like it was my computer.

That sounds practical. Not as portable as an iPod, but I'm sure much more reliable.
