I have attempted to run Daylight server (3.9.6) and Lithium 5 on the same machine and have run into a conflict. The symptoms are exactly the same (database will not start) as the conflict with Lightspeed 2.8.
Is there a work around? |

I'm not sure how it can conflict considering we now use a totally different database engine than LightSpeed with different ports and what not.
The database will not start may be the result of DNS getting screwed up somehow (possibly reverse DNS). When the database will not start, you should see a more descriptive message in the console or under the disclosure triangle in the UI alert. |

I also turned in a troubleshooting ticket for this issue. I got a response this morning..
It seems that there is an issue with Lithium and Daylite Server Admin due to the fact that they use the same database engine "PostGres" but different versions. At this point we are not able to give a workaround to make it work with Lithium 5, either than using another Mac machine for the Daylite Server application. We apologize for the inconvenience, it's not supported at this time. The only way we found to get Daylite back up and running was to completely re-install Mac OS X. Thanks, Sean Mendonca |
