Hi, all. A strange problem started today. Daylite is getting stuck in an endless loop during sychronization and locks up. It also locks up the imail. I end up having to force quit the system and each time I restart, it does it again at the first automatic syncro. What gives and what can I do to fix it? I have the latest version.

Hi Howard
Try system pref/ openbase and make sure automatic ip is not selected, also click fix permissions. If it does not do the trick contact MC by emailing your log file. You can do this under the help menu in DL |

I have also had this same problem several time over the past week. When quitting Daylite the Sync screen engages with a long blue strip across the page and it says "synch..." It never stops though. So I force quit. After this it seems Daylite stops auto syncing. I've added many contacts to address book and made changes in address book but it never shows up in Daylite.

I got a reply from the tech guys at marketcircle and they walked me through a two min. process to restore it. No problems since! It's a miracle! Let me know if you need the instructions and I'll send them to you...if I can find them...

Here are the instructions. They worked for me. Hopefully, they will work for you as well.
* Quit Daylite, iCal & AB * Launch iSync (From Applications -> iSync) * Go to iSync's Preferences (iSync -> Preferences) * Turn Syncing Off for the Computer (Uncheck the 'Enable syncing on this computer') * Turn Syncing Off for Daylite (Launch Daylite -> log into your database -> go to the Daylite Sync Preferences -> Turn Syncing Off) * Create a backup of your Daylite Database (in Daylite, go to File -> Database -> Quick Backup) * Create backups of iCal & AddressBook (Launch iCal & AB -> Choose the 'backup...' option from the File menus in both Applications) * Delete the "Local folder"located in the following directory: Home -> Library -> Application Support -> SyncServices * Turn Syncing back on for the Computer (iSync -> Preferences -> Enable Syncing on this computer ) * Reset Sync History in iSync (iSync -> Preferences -> click on the 'Reset Sync History' button) * Turn Syncing Back on for Daylite (Launch Daylite -> log into your database -> go to the Daylite Sync Preferences -> Turn Syncing On) |

Sometimes what may seem like the same issue could actually be something else, and I would exercise caution especially with carrying out instructions that deal with Sync Services. I would suggest contacting our support team explaining your issue to get the right solution.
Please also state which version of Daylite you are using as the latest version could be a newer version that a person has not yet installed on their computer. Thanks! Sean M Marketcircle Inc. smendonca@marketcircle.com Running Daylite 3.8 and Billings 3.0.3 on an iMac using Mac OS X 10.5.5 |
