We're releasing a Public Beta for our users to test and provide feedback on Daylite 3.7.4. We've made several fixes and added new features, and would appreciate feedback on these; the complete list of fixes and new features is listed below.
PLEASE NOTE: this release is a beta release, and may be further updated based on feedback from users; as such, it should not be considered as a 'final' release. We are confident that the fixes and features it brings are stable, but be warned that you use this release at your own risk. Please be sure to make appropriate backups of your database(s) - both online and offline. The purpose of this public beta is to allow our users to test and provide feedback on this release; to that end, we've created this thread in the Marketcircle forums for such feedback. Please note that:

When creating a task (some of mine are scheduled for one hour on the same day), I get an error of "Invalid Complete date for Task. Complete date must occur after the Start date."
This needs to allow for any amount of time to schedule a task (even 5 minutes). |

Merging with Word 2008 is broken. It say's it is replacing info...but then it doesn't.

Sebastian, I use Phonevalet, is this compatible, it uses Openbase as well. Have had issues in past where I couldn't use my database because of an upgrade. I have an email into Parlaint. Will post the reply. Looking for your knowledge as well. Thanks |

Wow. Merging with Pages and Numbers is great. Will it have the ability to suppress blank lines in an address field?

What merge keys are you using in your word template? |

Hi David, I've done some testing and merging with Word 2008 seems to be functioning properly. Was this an old template that you were using or is it a new one that you just created? |

Yep...I'm the bug...sorry...Not sure what caused it the first time...I was working from a Starbucks...maybe my machine was freaked out by the price of coffee?

David: Am I reading this right? Are you able to get data out of a custom form into Word 2008? How did you do it? I didn't think form data worked in external merges. Thanks for any help.

Mods...could you move Atticus's post and mine off to another thread...
just to keep this one pure... and I am happy to help you Atticus. It's actually simple. 1. Create the form 2. Take good notes so that you match the fields you created exactly (way important) 3. Insert the field you want to mere using this formatter <$form.Materials$>. Replace the word "Materials" with whatever word you copied down from step #2. Just to be clear...If my form field said Favorite Color, my merge field would be <$form.Favorite Color$>. 4. After form and template design, make a form connected to a contact/opp/proj etc. 5. When you are ready to merge, simply pick the contact/opp/prj etc... you associated the form to. 6. pick the form on the "forms tab" below 7. Click on write letter. 8. Fill out the specifics (where the template resides...where you want the completed info to go etc..and if you have created it under opp/proj...it will ask for which contact you want to merge. 9. Merge away 10. Go get a coffee...sit back and be soooo happy because it *should* have worked. Try it out, and let me know if you run into problems. I literally do this 4-5 times a day and it works awesome! |

David: amazing! I've been using the context menu and rightlclicking a linked contact (or several selected linked contacts), the choosing Write Letter, then selecting Pages and all the external merge keys worked but the form data never worked. Hadn't thought about selecting the form, the using the menu to select Merge, Using Pages. That works. Now, if there was a way to get a context menu to work when selecting the custom form so you didn't have to use the Action menu item, that would be great.
Thanks so much for the help! That's way cool! |

Are you typing in the keys yourself, or copy and pasting them from a document? We've found that sometimes copying from a document (like a PDF, etc.) will not actually copy the correct characters, so the keys will not be valid, even though they might look like they are.
