We have daylite running on a G4 that is only used for this perpose and occasional printing duties.
For all bar 1 of the 6 users connecting to Daylite the system works well. Only slowing when the 'server' G4's wireless connection isn't using the 'interference robustness' option (but we switch this on each morning). For one user however, Daylite runs REALLY slowly. All other applications on the machine are fine - it is the second fastest machine in the studio. Any ideas how we can trouble shoot this issue? |

If only one user is experiencing a really slow Daylite, then it could one of the following:
1) A bad network cable or hub/switch (as odd as it sounds, we've seen this) 2) The user is loading a very complex display (lots of columns, big list etc...) and something there is taxing the system To isolate #1, have the user login as themselves (Daylite user, not Mac OS X user) on another computer. If the speed is normal, then it is likely a network connection issue. To isolate #2, have the another user (who normally has no speed issues) log in a themselves (Daylite user) on the "slow" computer. If there is no slowdown issues, then we need to reset the user's "display state". (Unfortunately I don't remember how to reset the display state Send support the results of your tests and they will be able to recommend a course of action. |

Thanks AJ,
1) I think we can rule that out as we are all using a wireless connection with doesn't seem to be effecting anything else on the machine. 2) it seems to be during general use rather than one view. However, we will try the isolate steps you suggest to investigate further. I'll report back. |
