DAYLITE IS QUITTING! I purchased Daylite through a Premier Partner in mid August. All was working fine.
Now this week my database quits as soon as I click on a TASK. When I am searching contacts without entering any info, there isn't a problem. But as soon as I open a task, it sends me the dialog "Daylite has unexpectedly quit due to an application error." My system is: Mac OS X 10.4.10 Daylite version 3.2.3 I have 2 questions: 1) I'm using SAFARI - could this be the problem? Do I have to upgrade to TIGER? 2) I downloaded the new Daylite 3.5 but am hesitant to go further because: a. I'm hesitant to upgrade until all bugs have been ironed out b. When I click "install" I believe I had the option of "New Database" or "Connect to existing Database" & I'm not sure which to click since I don't want to change any of my settings or lose any of my 4,000 contacts. Hi Anne,
First of all, have you been making regular backups? If not it's best to make one right now. I don't think Safari would affect Daylite like this (my opinion only). You are already using Tiger though and you have the latest version as well. So nothing to do there. Download the latest daylite 3.5 again. Since you've been hesitating, there might have been a newer version posted since that has some bug fixes. If you are nervous, remember that you have backed up your database, so you still have your data. Also, the main problem with 3.5 is related to syncing with Addressbook and iCal, so just don't turn that feature on and you should be o.k. Follow the update instructions (in the Read Me file) to the letter and you should be fine. If you've got a backup now you could always go back to it, but you'd first have to download and install Daylite 3.2.3 again. Just wondering: did you contact the Premier Partner you purchased from for help? Regards, Howard |

Thanks Howard, I'm going to try it, I'll download it again to make sure I have the latest.
Yes I did contact the Premior Partner & he advised me to go ahead & do it too. Daylite data is all backed up. Anne Anne |
