Another problem we have concerns the smart lists. I would like to set up one for notes, which just shows the notes from projects and opportunities that are abandoned, won, done, cancelled etc. This works as long as I do it just for Projects or just for opportunities but not for both together..
@Anneke: You should be able to set up a smart list that sorts memos according to project status and opportunity state. The issue arises in that you have to set up the filters for each state, e.g., memos linked to projects whose status is abandoned and to opportunities whose status is abandoned, or projects whose status is done and opportunity state is won, or any combination of the different categories and opportunity states and status you use. But you can filter memos linked to both projects and opportunities within the same smart list.
