Hi,
We've been using Daylite in our office for a bit over a year and whilst we love the software, the too many users connected message is totally ridiculous and has to be solved. Every morning we come in, we have to all quit the software, stop the DB etc. Obviously, some of the juniors in the office are not able to do this and they therefore cannot work without it. Could you please address this annoying issue soon - I'm sure we're not the only people having issues with this and the forums posts suggest the same. We're running the latest release and each time a new update comes out we look forward to a possible fix... Simon |

You are not alone on this. As a Daylite Partner I have a few clients with this issue. I do hope it get resolved soon because it takes up a lot of my time on phone calls.

I am actually a single user and at times have to quit Daylite in order to be able to open it again, instead of just logging out and be able to open again.
Is this a bug with the system? |

Same problem here. Although we have 3 licences DL only lets one user through at times. Fairly unpredictable but more frequent recently.
Can s.o. at market circle tell us the status of this well known bug? François |

I think we have this resolved in 3.6 (which will ship soon). Turned out to be the estimate tab in an opportunity retained the database connection (developer speak).
There is another case you will want to keep in mind. If you jump from a wireless connection to a non-wireless and vice-versa on the same subnet, you can cause Daylite to have 2 connections because it tries to reconnect without disturbing you. I don't think happens too often in real life. |

Thanks for this. Odd as we don't use opportunities too often, but here you go... Any idea when 'soon' is? Has the Beta closed? Are we still talking 2007?

We've been using Daylite for a month or so and at least a couple of times a week we have the 'Too Many Users' error. User's have been quitting the database instead of logging out as suggested in previous posts but the problem is still happening.
Are you any closer to a solution on this? It seems this problem has been going on for some time. Could you consider an Admin function which allows me to force users out of the database? |

If you have purchased DL be sure that you have added all DL licences to all machines that will be using it. If not you can have the too many users issue.
In general terms the too many users issue does seem to have been largely resolved. You can log in as Daylite Admin on the server and see who is logged in. That should at least point you where to look. File -> Database -> Database info. Hope this helps you out. |

OMG, that's the problem? I was going crazy trying to figure this out a few months ago. I often move from my desktop to a laptop when I have a meeting in our conference room. Now I'll have to be more careful. "I only criticize Daylite because I love it and want it to be better." |

Are you sure this is resolved? As of Sep 2008 with the latest version I just moved my database to a server and purchased two extra licenses, but only one person at a time can log into the database. I've got three client computers, each with their own license, but the database connect process only allows one user at a time to connect.
I have a support contract, and contacted support by phone and email three days ago and still haven't heard back from them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Michael Czeiszperger | http://www.webperformance.com Web Performance Inc. | (1) 919-845-7601 x1761 Website Load Testing and Stress Testing Software & Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Michael,
You mentioned that each of your computers has a license; *all* of your licenses need to be entered on *all* of the computers. Hope this helps, Cynthia MacBook Pro OS X 10.5/Daylite 3.8 ______________________________________ Daylite Master Partner, Daylite Report Certified www.daylitehelp.com ______________________________________ |

Thanks I found that out from someone else. That, uh, doesn't seem to scale well. Now I'm glad we don't have all our employees on Daylite.
