I'm having a problem with the notifications functionality and can't determine whether it's a bug or something I'm doing wrong. Would love some input.
I'm a small business (really small, just me) using daylite on a desktop and a laptop when I'm in the field. Main dB is on the desktop and I use the offline dB on the laptop. Whenever I'm going offsite I sync the laptop with the online dB and then do the same when I get back home. Everything works fine except for notifications. I always seem to end up with duplicate notifications and the re-appearance of items I've dismissed on the desktop or laptop. Is there a proper way to handle this? |

If you just dismiss a notification it will still be there and show as not completed.
You need to open the task and click it as complete to remove it from the notifications window. I am not sure why you are getting duplicate notifications. Do these relate to duplicate tasks as well or just notifications? You can go into task view to see duplicate tasks are being produced. Hope this is useful |

What's happening is that the event is occurring separately on both the online and offline, and you've logged into each before syncing them together again. Due to the way the sync and notifications work, this is unavoidable in this case.
To avoid this, make sure you sync the offline on your laptop before you log into your online database on your desktop again. This will avoid having the notifications occur separately on both databases. Need help in Daylite or Billings? Check the Help menu for Apple Help documentation. |

I have a follow up question to this. I understand that if I've been using the offline dB I need to sync with the online dB before logging into the online dB again. However, what about the opposite situation where I've been working online then need to use the offline again -- there's no way that I can see to sync the two before actually logging onto the offline. Or am I missing something?

In that case you'd just need to select Database > Go Offline to sync them up and end up working on the offline database.
