Ok - this is killing me! I CANNOT get Daylite's calendar to sync to my Blackberry -still! It syncs to every other service. I've purged the device, purged the sync services etc...I CAN sync to iCal - no problem. I don't want to use iCal. When I upgraded to 3.1.1 - same problem. I decided to trash my Daylite database and create a new one. It DID sync a few times and then it stopped syncing, again, to the Calendar!
Here is a console log. I turned off all syncing except to the calendar. I tried this on two different machines - my Powerbook G4 and my iMac G5, both running 10.4.6 and/or 10.4.7: Console Log- ===== Tuesday, August 22, 2006 12:12:58 AM Canada/Eastern ===== 2006-08-22 00:13:02.335 PocketMacBlackBerry[2580] done 2006-08-22 00:13:04.351 PocketMacBlackBerry[2580] ready to sync 2006-08-22 00:13:04.351 PocketMacBlackBerry[2580] ******* Purge of handheld data option enabled ***** 2006-08-22 00:13:04.351 PocketMacBlackBerry[2580] Changes on handheld will be lost! 2006-08-22 00:13:04.351 PocketMacBlackBerry[2580] Please disable this through the Advanced Prefs application if you do not want this to happen in future. 2006-08-22 00:13:04.351 PocketMacBlackBerry[2580] *************************************************** 2006-08-22 00:13:38.297 PocketMacBlackBerry[2580] Data purged from handheld. 2006-08-22 00:13:38.298 PocketMacBlackBerry[2580] *************************************************** 2006-08-22 00:13:38.302 PocketMacBlackBerry[2580] sync begin 2006-08-22 00:13:38.308 PocketMacBlackBerry[2580] Contacts not selected/plugin not found. 2006-08-22 00:13:38.902 DayLiteRimCalendar[2594] PocketMac version 3.6 2006-08-22 00:13:39.926 Daylite[2572] *** -[NSCFDictionary _appendPropertyListValuesTo:followOnRelationshipKeys:flatteningPrefix:includeNullValues:]: selector not recognized [self = 0x734eb30] 2006-08-22 00:13:45.080 PocketMacBlackBerry[2580] Tasks not selected/plugin not found. 2006-08-22 00:13:45.083 PocketMacBlackBerry[2580] Notes not selected/plugin not found. 2006-08-22 00:14:20.733 PocketMacBlackBerry[2580] done Aug 22 00:14:24 MMServer /Library/Frameworks/PRLMacAPhone.framework/Resources/PRLDeviceMaster: PhoneValet WARN: IOSerialDevice /dev/cu.Blackberry terminated but couldn't match it in the device table. Jeff,
I have spent many, many hours on the same issue. I had great results for the last two years, but since about 3 weeks ago—no more calendar sync. I spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone with PocketMac last week. We tried a bunch of things (all of which I had already tried). Nothing works. Here's the net. They can not fix the issue. They promissed to send me a beta, but then called back and advised me that the beta did not work either. We are stuck until they get it solved. In the meantime, it's a paper copy of the DL calendar. Best regards, Bill |

I appreciate the replies. I find it extremely frustrating that the Blackberry sync to Daylite had been working and it is going to be a problem to recommend Daylite to clients who use these devices (including myself), not to mention some of the fall-out that I as a consultant have to deal with as my clients begin to complain about this issue. I was told and reassured that the sync problems with PocketMac and Blackberry was pretty much worked out and now it's not.
What's peculiar is that the same software syncs with other apps like Entourage and iCal with no difficulty. I have a bad taste in my mouth and I really hope this issue gets resolved very soon. Jeff Barrett/MacMedics info@macmedics.ca |

Hi Jeff,
I spoke to the PocketMac folks and they promise to resolve the issue real soon. Please accept my apologies (I know that is not enough). |

I appreciate your note, but it is really getting difficult for some of my clients who HAD the sync working in earlier versions of DL and not don't (including me).
What is really frustrating is that I can get the Calendar conduit to work if I create a brand new database. I then sync my Blackberry and all seems to work. What happens next is that I spend hours massaging the data again with my categories, links etc...do a sync and the conduit decides not to work again! I'm not sure what's going on there. Sometimes I think things go awry when there are prompts to delete information - there's definitely some kind of memory of data from the past floating around. The new 3.1.2 update hasn't changed a thing. For now I am not going to implement DL for any clients using Blackberry devices until this is fixed.

Update:
The PocketMac folks are working on this right now (this week). We made some additional changes at their request as well. Hopefully we will have a resolution for you in the next couple weeks. |

Man am I glad to hear this is being resolved. My main DL clients are getting testy at being held back on 3.03 because of the Blackberry/ Calendar issue (I actually picked up a used BB to verify this problem).
1) Can we be notified when PocketMac/Daylite synch correctly again? 2) Building in Synch Services does not mean internal support for Blackberry, just Palm etc, correct? Are we all still beholden to Pocketmac for Blackberry stuff even after Synch Services are built in? Thanks -E |

I am very pleased to know this issue is being addressed. I very much appreciate the response and committment of the Market Circle team and I'm looking forward to the resolution of this problem for the current version of Daylite.
It's such a great product and little things like this can really hold things back and stop the momentum of its continued adoption. I feel like just when my implementations were increasing this bug stopped everything in its tracks (at least for me and my clients). I had to stop using DL for a while because I couldn't use it properly without sync support for my own Blackberry vis a vis the calendar. Let's hope the eventual fix doesn't break in subsequent releases. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Jeff Barrett, Jeff Barrett/MacMedics info@macmedics.ca |

Don't get your hopes up.
I've been trying to get a straight answer out of the PocketMac people since July of this year. After submitting numerous support tickets, I was told that the matter would be resolved in a new release in 2 weeks. I even posted in another forum about this issue: http://www.blackberryforums.com/mac-users-corner/37286-...lite.html#post275318 Two months later, there's no release and I still can't sync my data between Daylite and my Blackberry without clobbering my data. It looks like Mac users are up a particular type of creek without a paddle when it comes to Blackberry/PIM synchronization. We have to with it or buy a PC |

Apparently, PocketMac 4 has just been released... any word on whether the Daylite<->Blackberry syncing is working properly now?

I must have ended up on a PocketMac mailing list when I was looking into it for a colleague a while back... I rec'd an email from them today announcing the availability of PM4.
Here's the link they included: http://www.blackberry.com/support/downloads/index.shtml |

I was just reading the PocketMac 4 manual. It lists syncs with DL, but only versions 1.7 - 1.9. What's up with that? Has anyone tried this?

Trying it now. Doesn't look good. I don't understand. This seems like something that should work! The choices are there, why are they there if they don't work?
