Here is a report that displays tasks for a given user. Download it, uncompress it and put it in Home -> Library -> Application Support -> Daylite -> Templates.

Then in Daylite, go to the File menu -> Reports. You'll find it in the Task outline.

Download it here

AJ, either the link is broken or the file is not where it should be.

Hi AJ, I am very new to Mac and DL and know nothing about programming. I appreciate the Task report you provided. I have been trying to modify it to duplicate the Notes/History report I used in ACT; namely detail of Task Detail and Appointment Minutes for a date range, grouped by Organization and then by Contact and Date Completed for a subset of Contacts. I have managed to modify your report to show the Organization, Contact, Completed Date and Completed Task Details and sort them by Organziation, but cannot figure out how to do the following:
1. Add a user input to select only the Contacts matching a specific Category for the report. I think the approach is to add a Popup Menu with a Key call selectedContacts, Kind: Objects, and Menu Title Key contact.category. I now need the appropriate script to populate the Contact Category choices. Can you help with this and/or correct my approach?
2. Add the Appointment Minutes for the Contact
3. Save the report as an RTF file - I read that this should be possible, but only see saving as a PDF under the Print option - I need to edit the content of the Notes occasionally and do not want to by Adobe Acrobat.

I have tried to use the Report Engine Concepts you provided, but do not have enough technical knowledge nor time to figure it out. Any help you could provide would be appreciated. I also don't know how to send you the report so you can see what I have done if that would be helpful. Incidently, I also had trouble creating a new Print Layout based an existing Summary report such as the Appointment Summary - there were no fields shown. Thanks

This would take a bit of time to do. It's a different kind of report than the thread here talks about.

You wouldn't be able to do RTF using the new report stuff - the output would be PDF only. If you want to do RTF, then you have to use the old Merge Kit style of report, but then you couldn't have a user input.

As I'm writing this - it seems to me that I answered this question elsewhere ...

Trying to figure out how to use this as a base to create an "Uncompleted tasks by Date Range for User"

I thought maybe I could change the script to just change "'statusCode'isEqualTo:7" to "'statusCode'isLessThan:7" and then also change the completedDate to dueDate in the qual3 and qual4 statements... but that doesn't seem to have worked.

I've also tried a few other variations... but no luck.

Is there a relatively simple way to alter the script on this one to get "uncompleted" tasks with due dates prior to the end of the chosen date range?

Is it possible add the organization the task belongs to?

AJ, your report is just what I need, but I would also like a report that groups tasks by projects. I'll need that kind of information so that I can divide employees hours by project for project's cost following.

How do I add the project name to a task or group tasks by project with this report?
