Hey Everyone,
I thought I would take a moment to make a quick post on best practice when bringing in information from Address Book. This is the behavior of the sync: Address Book as two cards, contact and company. When a contact card with an organization name is synced with Daylite, two things happen. A contact is created with the details of the card (from address book), and a linked organization is created in Daylite with no fields but the name of the organization. Daylite does have a bulk edit feature where you can push and pull the contact address fields to the linked organization. This helps you fill out the details of the organization quickly. To summarize: one Address Book contact card with Organization Name equals two Daylite records, contact and linked organization. When an Address Book company card with, or without a contact entered, only an organization is created in Daylite with the organization details. To summarize: one company card equals one Daylite record, but with organization details intact. For complete details of the sync (fields in Address Book that come in to Daylite): check out the last two pages of the synchronization guide (located in the Help menu in Daylite). This is a great guide to read in its entirety as it outlines the necessary information about syncing. Based on this behavior, If you want to keep the contact names attached to the company card, you can switch your organization cards to contact cards and keep the relationship. Hope this helps!
