Here is a widget that takes all addresses from a Contact or an Organization and determines the timezone for each unique city/state/country.
I couldn't find a web service so I used http://www.worldtimeserver.com/mobile/ and wrote some javascript to scrape the information from the webpage. A link is also created to go to the website. The code depends on a couple of things: 1. country names used in contacts and organizations need to match the ISO country names: http://www.iso.org/iso/country_codes/iso_3166_code_list...nd_code_elements.htm 2. If no country is specified US is assumed. I could make this a preference in the future so a default country could be used, or determine who the current user is and use their country. 3. I don't think Market Circle's javascript implementation supports setTimeout so the page has to be manually refreshed (CMD-R) to get an up-to-date time. Check it out at http://www.lurkerfilms.com/FTP/timezones.zip Comments and suggestions appreciated. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Andrew Migliore, |

I installed your widget and checked a few contacts and organizations and it seems to be working perfectly. Thank you, it's not always easy to remember everyones tim zone, especially from Hawaii!
I appreciate your work. Kirk |

Glad that it is working for you. It was fairly easiy to write and I like the functionality of the HUDs. Market Circle just needs to implement a few more things...
cheers |
