Hi,
I have a lot of downloads from my website, that I would like to follow up by sequential e-mails, so that I can set up an autoresponse that will be followed up by another response after x days and yet another response after y days. Today, I use DayLite to generate Activity sets to remind me to send the follow up e-mails. This is a time consuming task that I hope to be able to solve automatically. Is this doable within DayLite or with help of scripts or add-ons? This is what I would like to happen: A - You down load and get an email sent to you with code to unlock your download - this can be done automatically through Mails autoresponse. Every day I check who received the autoresponse, and I add them into DayLite and I create an activity set for you. B - After three days you get cheerfull mail showing of some hot trix in the product you downloaded 3 days ago. C - After yet another 10 days you get an offer to buy the product with a special bonus if you buy before the end of the trial period. Step B and C is handled automatically by DayLite. I would also like to be able to see how many people I have in the pipeline at A, B or C - and I could remove them from this que if I would want to. If this can be done - is there anyone you can recommend to help me do it? Best regards Jörgen Olsson, Moreware |

Jorgen,... this is the EXACT process we too have been trying to accomplish - but building click after click to set up tasks and activity lists, and still have to send email manually and watch for the alarms is just not cutting it - have you found a better way?

unfortunately I have not managed to find a Mac Tool that does this - so there is a business opportunity here for MarketCircle. I know that these tools are available in Windows CRM system like GoldMiner - and it really adds a lot of value for customers that download software for example - or contact support. I'm glad I found this post as I have realized this weekend that I need to do something similar to cut down on the large amounts of clicking and emailing required to maintain accounts. As for your points above, here is how I thought about it: A - yes, mail can autorespond, but creating the contact and activity set in Daylite can also be scripted. B - activity reminders can run a script at the appointed time. the script can instruct mail.app to send the email C - same as B This has prompted me to learn Applescript, but I would be better off hiring someone to do it for me so I can implement. I don't have the exact scenario as you but the scripts could probably serve both of us. An additional feature I would like would be that if the prospect responds to one of the emails that has been sent out as a result of the activity set, then the activity set changes. I think that if the emails are tagged using Mailtags, then mailtags could initiate a script to achieve this. |
