Hi everyone. I don't know squat about scripting. I'm trying Daylite to manage my workload which includes many many projects. I'm implementing David Allen's GTD. So far, so good. Daylite presents the neat feature of pipelines, which by the way help me track every project and it's current phase.
Each stage has almost the same tasks to be carried out, so I would need to manually input these for every stage for every project I create. I have as many as 20 projects going. That's a killer!. Is there any "easy" script to create a "Template", so if I create a Project, it could automatically create a series of predefined tasks for each stage?

Thanks y'all!

Hello and welcome to Daylite!

Activity Sets can take care of this for you. Go to Daylite>Preferences>Activity Sets. Define a new Activity Set that is called something like your stage 1. Define the actual activities that go into that set. Define another Activity set that is called something like your stage 2, and so on. Then you can apply these Activity Sets to the Project as needed by clicking on the Project then choose Create>New Activity Set for [project name]. If you have your contextual menus set up for Projects you can right-click on the Project and choose New Activity Set for [project name].

Hope this helps,
Cynthia

Any chance that I can apply an activity set to each independent stage of a pipeline? I don't want to see things I need to do in the next stage and I want to make sure I've executed the current stage's tasks/appointments before moving on. Seems natural to me and I'm assuming it's in Daylite, but I'm just not finding it.

Hi Sean,
You can't do it on an automatic basis (ie, have a certain Activity Set automatically be applied as you move on to a certain pipeline stage). That's what I was covering in my post above; please let me know if you need further clarification.

Take care,
Cynthia

I see. That's too bad. It seems that this should be in the pipeline's properties- to assign specific activity sets to each stage. Compete each activity set and the pipeline automatically increments.

I'm 1 hour new to this software and everything else seems so fluid. This is a weird hangup with an OK workaround you have suggested. Thanks alot for your previous suggestions in this thread.
